UMW Field Hockey Picked to Repeat as CFHC Champions in Preseason Coaches Poll

DANVILLE, Ky. – Coming off their victory in the inaugural Collegiate Field Hockey Conference Championship, the University of Mary Washington has once again been tabbed as the preseason favorite for 2025.

Earning five first-place votes and 30 total points, the Eagles topped the preseason poll of the conference's six head coaches. Rhodes followed close behind in second with 26 points and one first-place vote, while Sewanee rounded out the top three with 20 points.

2025 CFHC Preseason Poll
1. Mary Washington – 30 (5)
2. Rhodes – 26 (1)
3. Sewanee – 20
4. Centre – 19
5. Marian – 14
6. Concordia – 11

Mary Washington claimed last year's conference title after finishing 13-7 overall and 4-1 in league play. Their lone conference loss came to Rhodes in a double-overtime thriller,
but the Eagles bounced back with a decisive 6-4 win over the Lynx in the championship game. Leading the way again this season is senior forward Grayson Scott, the 2024
Offensive Player of the Year, NFHCA National Player of the Week, and NFHCA All-Region selection.

Rhodes enters 2025 after an undefeated 5-0 conference campaign last season. The Lynx will look to fill key roles left by Defensive Player of the Year RC Kugler and Goalie of the Year Catherine Gluodenis.

The 2025 CFHC Championship is scheduled for November 6–9 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, hosted by Marian University.
