Katie Royle. Roanoke avoided the shutout with a score in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles led in shots, 16-4, and both teams attempted six penalty corners. UMW goalkeeper Tori WInans made one save in 56 minutes of action, and first year keeper
Lenna Chandler turned in a clean sheet in four minutes of relief.
Mary Washington will be back in action on Wednesday, when the Eagles visit Bridgewater College at 7:00 p.m.
