Box Score 2 The University of Mary Washington softball team fell in a pair of games to No. 23 Randolph-Macon on Thursday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Va.
Game 1 - Eagles lose, 11-0.
The Yellow Jackets took an 11-0 lead during the third inning, but that's when
Anna Dobson trotted out from the bullpen to the circle to stop the bleeding. The right-hander tossed 3.2 innings, allowing just two runs (one earned), while striking out a pair.
Shelby Presgrave and
Kennedy Darling collected a hit each.
Game 2 - Eagles lose, 6-1
RMC took a 5-0 lead by the fifth, but the Eagles got on the scoreboard when
Hannah Steele singled home
Bayly Yerigan in the bottom of the fifth.
Sofia Marshall,
Hailee Danneker, Yerigan, Presgrave and Steele all recorded hits for the Eagles.
Sydney Jester tossed all seven innings for UMW as she allowed five earned runs and struck out two.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday at Bridgewater at 11 a.m. and then face Greensboro College at 1:30 p.m.
