The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team welcomed several hundred players to the Battleground this weekend for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Regional Tournament, featuring several draws of singles and doubles play.

In the championship doubles draw, Eagles Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey advanced to the semifinals, topping foes from Washington & Lee, Johns Hopkins, and Haverford en route to the semis, where they fell by the closest of margins, 8-7 (5).

In singles, UMW's Abby Moghtader advanced to the round of 16, topping opponents from Sweet Briar and Johns Hopkins.

The Eagles will compete in the St. Joseph's Invitational in Philadelphia next weekend.
