The University of Mary Washington softball team split its Saturday doubleheader with York College of Pa, winning the first game 2-1 in nine innings before falling in the nightcap, 7-0. In the opener, after seven scoreless innings, the Eagles prevailed in nine, 2-1. After each team scored in the eighth, the Eagles held the Spartans at bay in the ninth, before Morgan Lamon (Herndon, Va., Oakton) moved to third on a sacrifice by Amanda Adams (Ashburn, Va., Stone Bridge), and scored on a long fly ball to center field by Brianna D'Agata (Hanover, Pa., Southwestern).
