The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field team competed at the Fred Hardy Invitational this weekend at the University of Richmond.
The women saw a huge performance by the 4x100 relay team, who ran the seventh-fastest time of the outdoor season in Division III, as
Jolene Adu,
Sophia Redmond,
Anijah James, and
Yasmin Deane ran to a second-place time of 47.85. James was eighth in the 100 meters at 12.71 and
Hannah Steele was sixth in the javelin throw at 26.17 meters.Â
The men saw
Cooper Chasse finish fifth in the javelin at 45.55 meters,
Ashton Shultz take sixth in the 3000 steeplechase at 10:32.44, and
Nicholas Smerlis finish seventh in the 5000 meters at 15:26.98.Â
Both teams will be back in action on March 27-28 at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invite at the University of Lynchburg.
