The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field teams competed at the Dennis Craddock Invitational at the University of Lynchburg, as well as at Duke University this weekend, with several personal bests.
At Duke, the 4x100 meter relay broke the school record, with a time of 47.53.
Yasmin Deane finished 25th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.96.
Sophia Redmond was 36th at 12.07.
Jason Duncan finished 42nd in the men's 100 at 10.79, and
Luke Wahlquist was 74th in the 400 at 50.81.
In Lynchburg,
Lily Hoffman finished second in the 10K, with a time of 37:45.66, which ranks 38th in all of D3 this season and ranks as a season best.
Katherine Armstrong was seventh in the 10K at 46:17.28,
Eyaya Fletcher was second in the 1500 meters at 5:09, with Raina Carter taking sixth at 5:24.
Maddie Binkley was ninth in the 5K at 21:04, and
Hannah Steele finished sixth in the javelin at 27.05 meters.
The men in Lynchburg were led by
Steven Niese, who took second in the 10K at 33:15.54. He was followed by
Jimmy Volk in fifth at 34:08, and
Everett Cimon, who finished sixth at 34:56.
Trent Nichols was seventh in the 5K at 16:07,
Cooper Chasse was sixth in the javelin at 45.09 meters, and
Brady Thompson was seventh in the hammer throw at 45.17 meters.
Both teams will be back in action next weekend at the Christopher Newport Captains Classic.
