The University of Mary Washington men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins Invitational on Friday.
The men opened the meet with a win by the 4000 meter distance medley relay, as
Luke Blair,
Luke Wahlquist,
Aidan Kimener, and
CJ Hulleman finished at 10:50.92.
Nicholas Smerlis finished second in the 5000 meters, at 15:30.97, and
Steven Niese finished third, and
Jimmy Volk fourth. Blair finished second in the mile at 4:33.40, with
Trent Nichols taking third at 4:40.70. Kimener took second in the 800 meters at 1:58.11, and
Steven Niese took second in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:52.34.
The women saw
Lily Hoffman finish first in the 5000 meters, at 18:27.52, and also take second in the 3000 meters, at 10:39.66.
Addy Wallin was fourth in the 5k, and
Katherine Armstrong fifth.
Anijah James was seventh in the triple jump at 35 feet, 1.75 inches, while
Jolene Adu took eighth.
The teams will be back in action next weekend at the VMI Invitational.
