The University of Mary Washington indoor track & field teams competed at the Cardinal Track & Field Classic, hosted by Catholic University, in Landover, Md. on Saturday, with several outstanding performances.
On the women's side, sophomore
Lily Hoffman finished in second place in the 5000 meters, with a time of 18:20.99. Sophomore
Addy Wallin placed fifth in the 5K, at 20:03.88.
Jolene Adu finished sixth in the triple jump, with a leap of 32' 11.75".
For the men,
Nicholas Smerlis finished second in the 5000 meters, at 15:49.43, while
Jimmy Volk finished fourth at 16:02.95, and
Everett Cimon placed fifth at 16:42.14. The men's distance medley relay of
Luke Blair,
Aidan Kimener,
Luke Wahlquist, and
Steven Niese finished first, with a time of 10:36.56. Sophomore
Brady Thompson finished fourth in the weight throw, with a throw of 46' 10.75".
Both teams will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at Liberty University and VMI.
