The University of Mary Washington men's and women's track and field teams each finished in fourth place at the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships this weekend in Newport News, Va.
The Eagles racked up a victory in the women's 100 meters, as
Yasmin Deane broke the conference record, meet record, and facility record with a time of 11.57 seconds. Teammate
Sophia Redmond finished second, at 11.89, which also broke the existing records. Deane also won the 200 meters, at 24.35, which also broke he conference and meet records. Redmond again took second, at 25.14.
Eyaya Fletcher finished second in the 800 meters, at 2:19.33, and the 4x100 meter relay finished third, at 48.82 seconds.
Theresa Oetgen was fourth in the shot put.
For the men,
Jacinto Jones II finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 21.21 seconds, while
Luke Blair finished third in the 1500, at 3:57.27.
Jacob Lohr won the 5000 meters at 15:15.79, and then took second in the 10K, at 32:19.46.
Luke Wahlquist was ffifh in the 400 hurdles.
The 4x100 meter relay of
Justin Ford,
Malikai Mitchell, Jones, and
Jason Duncan took first with a time of 41.80, and the 4x400 relay finished third.
Elias Polovchik was second in the javelin and fifth in the pole vault, and
Aidan Smagh fifth in the long jump.
