The University of Mary Washington outdoor track and field teams turned in excellent days at the St. Mary's College Seahawk Invitational on Saturday.
For the women, first year
Yasmin Deane finished first in the 100 meters, with a time of 12.01 seconds, which ranks third in the nation among Division III competitors this spring. She also joined
Journey Mason,
Jolene Adu, and
Sophia Redmond to finish first in the 4x100 meters, with a time of 49.00, ranked 21st this spring in the nation.
Eyaya Fletcher ran a PR in the 800 meters in finishing first at 2:24.07, and
Addy Wallin took first in the 5000 meters at 20:25.68. Adu finished first in the triple jump, at 33 feet, 11.5 inches.
Ava Wray was second in the 1500 meters, Redmond was second in the 100, and
Jessica Oberlies was third in the 5K.
On the men's side, Ashton Schultz finished first in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 10:26.27, and
Luke Blair won the 1500 meters at 3:59.72 with a PR.
Aidan Kimener finished first in the 800 meters at 1:58.13, and
Luke Wahlquist won the 400 meter hurdles at 58.69 with a PR.
Jacob Lohr finished first in the 5000 meters at 15:24. The 4x100 meter relay of
Justin Ford, Malakai Mitchell,
Jacinto Jones II and
Jason Duncan finished second at 41.59, as did
Elias Polovchik in both the javelin and pole vault.
Jones took third in the 400 meters, as did Mitchell in the 100 meters and
Jimmy Volk in the 5000 meters.
Brady Thompson finished second in the hammer throw and third in the shot put and discus.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday and Saturday at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg.
