The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team finished in first place among five competing schools in the 8,000 meter race, while the women's team took second among five schools in the 6K race at the Shenandoah University Hornet Harrier in Kernstown, Va., on Saturday.
The men were led by
Jacob Lohr, who finished in first place with a time of 27:58.
Aidan Kimener was second overall at 28:19, and
Jimmy Volk took fourth overall, at 29:20.
Rylan Sedlacek finished fifth at 29:37, and Aston Schultz took sixth, at 29:39, in a dominating effort for the Eagles.
The women took second to Bridgewater College with 34 points, as
Lily Hoffman finished in fourth place overall at 25:36, and
Ava Wray finished seventh at 27:06. Jessica Oberlis was next in eighth place at 27:17,
Addy Wallin was ninth at 27:24, and
Katherine Armstrong took 10th place at 27:28.
Both teams will return to action on October 5 at the Paul Short Invitational.
