The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed at the University of Virginia Invitational on Friday morning in Earlysville, Va.
The men ran first, and the Eagles were led by sophomore
Nicholas Smerlis, who finished in 76th place with a time of 27:13.8. Seniors
Luke Blair and
Aidan Kimener took 77th and 78th, at 27:18 and 27:24, respectively.
Jimmy Volk finished in 80th place at 27:33,
Steven Niese finished 81st at 27:34, and
CJ Hulleman took 82nd at 27:35.
The women were led by sophomore
Lily Hoffman, who finished in 74th place at 19:15. Junior
Eyaya Fletcher finished in 92nd place at 20:17, sophomore
Addy Wallin took 100th at 21:05, and senior
Katherine Armstrong finished 102nd at 21:07. Sophomore
Ava Wray placed 103rd at 21:17.
Both teams will be back in action on September 26 at James Madison University.at 5:00 p.m.
