The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2024 season at the University of Richmond Spider Alumni Opener, with the men finishing 10th among 14 temas, and the women finishing 13th among 14 teams.
On the men's side, the Eagles finished second among Division III schools, as the University of Virginia finished first. The Eagles' top finishers were senior
Jacob Lohr in 43rd place, at 19:24.9, junior
Luke Blair in 94th place at 20:44.2, and junior
Aidan Kimener in 96th place at 20:48.5. Freshman
Everett Cimon was 97th at 20:48.9, and sophomore
Ashton Shultz finished in 106th place at 21:26.5.
For the women, top finishers included freshman
Ava Wray in 109th place at 16:41.5, senior
Jessica Oberlies in 121st place, at 16:59.4, and freshman
Addy Wallin in 127th place, with a time of 17:12.9. Junior
Katherine Armstrong 135th at 17:25.7, and sophomore
Eyaya Fletcher finished 149th, at 18:02.0.
Both teams will be back in action on September 3 at the Christopher Newport Invitational.
