The University of Mary Washington women's and men's cross country teams each finished in fourth place at the 2024 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference championships on Saturday in Newport News, Va.
For the women, freshman
Lily Hoffman led the way by gaining all-conference honors in finishing in fifth place, with a time of 22:48. Senior
Jessica Oberlies finished in 22nd place, at 24:45, and freshman
Maddie Binkley took 23rd at 25:12. Sophomore
Eyaya Fletcher finished 24th at 25:13, and freshman
Addy Wallin rounded out the top five, in 25th place at 25:15.
UC Santa Cruz won the title with 28 points, followed by Salisbury's 45 points. Christopher Newport had 72 points, with the Eagles scoring 87.
On the men's side, junior
Luke Blair was the Eagles' top finisher in 19th place, at 26:55. Sophomore
Jimmy Volk finished 22nd at 27:09, freshman
Rylan Sedlacek was 24th at 27:19, and senior
Jacob Lohr took 26th at 27:28. Junior
Aidan Kimener rounded out the top five with a time of 28:13, in 33rd place.
Santa Cruz won the title with 15 points, followed by Christopher Newport with 47, Salisbury with 77, and UMW with 109.
Both teams will be back in action in two weeks at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championship.
