The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team topped St. Vincent College, 15-5, on senior day in Fredericksburg, VA. The Eagles improve to 6-5 overall.

The Eagles got out to a fast start on senior day as multiple Eagles put one in the back of the net. Vinny Smiroldo got it started as he scored just 30 seconds into the game for his fourth goal of the season. Chris White added a goal just 2:50 later to go up 2-0 on an assist from Shane McKenzie. The Bearcats got on the board with 9:49 to play. 

Senior Cole Hogan put one in the back of the net with 3:46 left. Josh Schulman scored just a minute later and then Robert Tata added a goal as he picked off the Bearcats and took it the length of the field to score his third goal of the year and put the Eagles up 5-1 at the end of the first quarter. 

The two teams got off to a slow start in the second quarter, but a goal by Kieran Burns assisted by White put the Eagles up 6-1 with 7:50 to play. McKenzie added a goal on an assist from Jamin Lane at the 5:55 mark and just 10 seconds later JC Reynolds scored on an assist from McKenzie. St. Vincent notched a goal with just 59 seconds left in the half to put the score at 8-2.

Out of the half, the Bearcats scored two goals to bring the score to 8-4 with 7:31 to play. From there, White scored three straight goals, two assisted by Hogan and the other assisted by McKenzie to put UMW up 11-4. Chase Kapuscienski then scored a goal on an assist from Hogan with 2:46 to play. Nick Clingan capped the third quarter scoring with his first career goal on an assist by Sean Tuite to put UMW up 13-4.

St. Vincent scored the first goal of the fourth quarter just 4 minutes in. Will Hackett then scored his first gaol with 9:40 to play to put UMW up 14-5. Brandon Williams scored the final goal for UMW with 4:58 to play that gave the Eagles a 15-5 win. 

Tata led the team with seven ground balls and six caused turnovers, while Davis King and Eli Ayer had five ground balls a piece. 

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Salisbury at 1 p.m.
