Senior midfielder Bram Sims (Boston, Va., Culpeper) and his brother, senior forward Corey Sims (Boston, Va., Culpeper), provided goals as the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team topped Hood College, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Frederick, Md., in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles, still in the mix for the top seed in the CAC Tournament, improve to 6-5-3 overall and 4-1-2 in league play.


Bram Sims opened the scoring in the 27th minute on a volley into the lower left corner of goal, and the Eagles carried the 1-0 into halftime. Corey added his goal at 69:40 on an assist from his brother.


The Eagles led in shots, 26-6, and in corner kicks, 4-0. Freshman goalie Tyler Back (Falls Church, Va., George Mason) made two saves in recording the shutout.


Mary Washington will host Wesley College on Saturday for Homecoming at 3:30 p.m.
