The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the first week of the 2026 men's soccer season. The University of Mary Washington's Zaine Asim received C2C Defensive Player of the Week honors.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Zaine Asim, Mary Washington

Zaine Asim contributed to three shutouts in Mary Washington's trio of victories. In his first start against Eastern Mennonite, Asim recorded two saves and played nearly 84 minutes in the 6-0 victory. Against Whitman on Friday, Asim had five saves in a 3-0 win, playing all 90 minutes. Finally, on Sunday, Asim played all 90 minutes in a 1-0 victory over N.C .Wesleyan. For the week, Asim recorded seven saves in three games, picking up the victory in each.
