Four Eagles Earn All-Region Baseball Honors

The University of Mary Washington baseball team had four members named to the D3Baseball.com All-Region Team on Tuesday morning. Ty Lowe (designated hitter), Brendan McComber (starting pitcher), and Justin Ritz (starting pitcher) were all named to the Second Team. Meanwhile, Connor Hassan (relief pitcher) earned Third Team honors. Lowe (Second Team) and Ritz (Third) also earned All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association in its ABCA/Rawlings All-Region VI Team announcement.

Lowe, who entered the season with the most RBIs in program history, became the Eagles' all-time leader in hits in 2025 after hitting .329 in 38 games. Lowe doubled 11 times, homering three times, while driving in 34 runs. Lowe reached on almost 42% of his plate appearances this past season as he drew 17 walks and was hit by four pitches. For Lowe, it's his third All-Region honor after being named a second-teamer by D3Baseball in 2023 and in 2024.

Meanwhile, Ritz also capped off one of the seasons in program history after recording the fourth-best ERA in a single season in program history (1.84). He was named a C2C First Teamer after going 6-3 in 10 starts (11 appearances), striking 44 batters out in the process. Ritz tossed 49 innings, sporting his first All-Region honor in his career.

For McComber, the lefty had one of the best regular seasons in recent memory on the bump for UMW. He finished the regular season with a 1.64 ERA in just under 50 innings, earning Coast-to-Coast Pitcher of the Year in the process. McComber tossed 52 innings for UMW this past season, sporting a 2.25 ERA, while going 5-0 in 13 total appearances for UMW this past spring. He also became the program's all-time leader in pitching appearances (59) late in the season, too.

Hassan became the program's all-time leader in saves with 11 this past spring, tying the most in single-season history with six at Mary Washington. Hassan pitched to a 4.11 ERA in 15 games, striking out 26 batters in the process and was named to the C2C First Team.
