The 30th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to UC Santa Cruz on Friday in California. The Eagles slip to 3-3 on the season.
In doubles, the Eagles gained a win at one, as
Addison Felts and
Natalie Kim scored a 6-3 victory over Sara Beckman and Natalie Sprenger. The Banana Slugs scored wins at two and three to claim the doubles point.
In singles, Kim gained a 7-5, 6-3 win at two over Sprenger for the Eagles first point, and first year
Sophia Broomall netted a 6-3, 6-2 victory at six for the second. The match at one was rained out tied at six in the second set.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they host seventh-ranked Washington & Lee University at 4:00 p.m.
