Mackenzie Proffitt was named Offensive Player of the Year, junior
Katie Royle was named Defensive Player of the Year, junior
Tori Winans gained Goalie of the Year, and head coach
Jamie Tierney was named Coach of the Year, as the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference announced its major award winners and all-conference teams on Tuesday. Six players were named to the all-conference team, including five on the first team.
Proffitt was named Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 13 goals and adding nine assists through 18 games, she led the league in goals, assists, and points. Royle gained Defensive Player of the Year after leading an Eagle defense that outscored its conference opponents, 20-1, in the regular season, as a standout on the back line. Winans was Goalie of the Year, with one goal against in five conference games, with 16 saves.
Tierney gained Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to a 12-6 overall record, and 5-0 mark in CFHC action. Senior defender
Emma Lehman was named to the all-Sportsmanship team.
Joining Proffitt, Royle, and Winans on the all-conference first team were seniors
Grayson Scott and
Lauren Boucher, and senior
Caroline Porter gained second team all-CFHC honors as a defender.
The Eagles will open play in the CFHC Tournament in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Friday at noon.
