The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team sent several individuals to the Christopher Newport University Duals in Newport News, Va. this weekend, with several big wins.
Freshman
Keldibek Kozhoev won two of three singles matches, as well as two of three doubles matches. He defeated C. Rulian Zarraga of Virginia Wesleyan, 6-3, 6-3, and Jude Killikely of Hapton, 6-3, 6-0. He teamed with
Ryan Meyer to down Monroe and Halvorsen of CNU, 8-2, and Kim and Wexler of Johns Hopkins, 8-6.
Senior
Drew Campbell gained two singles wins, over Sam Halvorsen of CNU, 7-5, 6-2, and Yanozie Anadike of Hampton, 6-4, 1-6, 10-7. He and
Rithik Manchala won in doubles over Benjamin Mwanza and Killekely, 8-2.
The full Eagles squad will compete in the ITA Regional at UMW on September 27-29.
