The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated UC Santa Cruz, 5-1, in the semifinals of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference semifinal round on Saturday at the UMW Indoor Tennis center. The Eagles improve to 9-9 on the season, and will advance to Sunday's championship.

The Eagles pulled ahead with victories at one and two doubles. Emily Beckner and Addison Felts scored an 8-1 win at two doubles, and Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey gained an 8-4 win to give the Eagles heading to singles play. 

UMW gained wins from Kimmey at two, 6-0, 6-2, and Felts at three, 6-2, 6-3, before Hagino clinched the win with a 7-5, 6-3 win at one.

The Eagles will host top-seeded Christopher Newport on Sunday in the championship, which starts at 2:00 p.m.
