The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team took on Division I Monmouth, Howard, and George Mason this weekend in Fairfax, Va. in a round robin team event.
On Saturday, the Eagles faced Monmouth and Howard. Freshman
Sophia Broomall scored a singles win against Faith Sadgrove of Monmouth, 6-0, 1-6, 12-10, and sophomore
Addison Felts and freshman
Natalie Kim gained a 6-4 victory in doubles over Lana Brezain and Hana McKinney.
Against Howard, Broomall and
Jacey Copeland gained a 6-4 win in doubles over Sofia Lindholm and Hanna Dessie. With a forfeit win at three doubles, UMW scord the doubles point.
On Sunday, the Eagles faced George Mason, and Kim gained a 6-3, 6-4 win in singles, as well as teaming with Felts for a 6-1 win in doubles.
Linda Dimitroff and Copeland scored a 7-6 (2) victory in doubles as well, giving UMW the point.
The team will return to action in the spring semester.
