The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped its second straight Capital Athletic Conference match on Weednesday evening, falling to visiting Frostburg State University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14. The Eagles fall to 13-7 overall and 3-2 in CAC play.
UMW was led by
Hannah Lawson (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle)'s seven kills,
Laura Gomez (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle)'s four blocks and five kills, and
Karissa Herrick (Colts Neck, N.J., Colts Neck)'s five kills. Junior setter
Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) had 21 assists,
Ellen Smethurst (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant School) added four blocks, and
Kaitlynn Wickersham (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) added seven digs.
Tola Adebanjo (Overland Park, Ks., Blue Valley Northwest) led UMW with three aces.
The Eagles will return to action on Thursday night when they host Gallaudet University at 7:00 p.m.
