The York College volleyball team ran its school-record win streak to 16 matches as the Spartans handed the University of Mary Washington volleyball team its first Capital Athletic Conference loss of the year with a 3-1 win in York, Pa. Game scores were 17-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-22.

The Eagles were led by freshman Hannah Lawson (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) and junior Tola Adebanjo (Overland Park, Ks., Blue Valley Northwest), who each had six kills. Lawson and junior Leslie Truesdale (Vienna, Va., Oakton) each had 16 digs for the Eagles, while Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) had 15 assists and Sammy Hogue (Springfield, Va., West Springfield) seven.

Mary Washington will host Frostburg State University in another key CAC match on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
