FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The University of Mary Washington has announced the appointment of Victoria Sullivan as head coach of the varsity equestrian program, pending final human resources approval. Sullivan will lead the Eagles as the program begins a new chapter in partnership with Memory Lane Farm, the team's new riding provider and training facility. Amber Ritenour will join the program as Assistant Coach.
 
Sullivan brings extensive riding and coaching experience to Mary Washington and will oversee the equestrian program, including student-athlete development, competition preparation, recruiting, and program operations.
 
"Victoria's coaching experience and connections within the region will be a great asset to the team and the department", said UMW Director of Athletics Patrick Catullo. "In addition, Memory Lane Farm offers a tremendous environment for our student-athletes to train and compete."
 
Memory Lane Farm will serve as the home training facility for UMW Equestrian. The partnership provides the program with access to quality horses, facilities, and training opportunities as the Eagles compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA).
 
Ritenour joins Sullivan on the coaching staff and will assist with rider instruction, team development, and competition preparation.

Mary Washington's equestrian team competes as a varsity sport within the IHSA and has a long tradition of success in regional and national competition. Under Sullivan's leadership, the Eagles will look to build upon that tradition while providing a first-class student-athlete experience.
