Victoria Sullivan has been named as the head equestrian coach at the University of Mary Washington for 2026-27.
A lifelong rider, she had her first pony, bred by her parents, waiting when she was born!
She began riding at Hazelwild Farm and has proudly remained in the hunter ring ever since. Over the years, she has competed extensively on the VHSA and BHSA circuits, along with several rated horse shows.
At 25, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening her own boarding and lesson facility, Memory Lane Farm, on her grandfather’s farm. "None of it would have been possible without the support of my parents, Carolyn and Brad, who believed in my dream and helped make it a reality", says Sullivan.
She continues: "Today, Memory Lane Farm is home to a thriving barn community of more than 25 horses and a dedicated show team that provides riders with the opportunity to grow, learn, and compete in the hunter ring. The farm has allowed me to share my passion for horses while helping riders develop their skills, confidence, and love for the sport."

"I have always been drawn to the greener, more challenging horses. They require patience, consistency, and perseverance, I firmly believe those are the horses that teach us the most and ultimately make us better riders. They teach us to be adaptable, trust the process, and appreciate the small victories along the way. I believe the same lessons apply to life. We are not always given the easiest path, but learning how to work through challenges, grow from our experiences, and make the most of what is in front of us is what truly builds character and resilience."
"Outside of the barn, I’m incredibly blessed to be the mom of the sweetest little boy, Christopher, who will turn 3 in October. I’m also fortunate to have two wonderful stepchildren, Matthew and Sarah. Sarah has developed the same passion for horses that I have and is happiest when she’s at the barn."
"As I begin this new chapter as the coach of the university equestrian team, I look forward to bringing my experience, passion, and dedication to the program. I’m excited for the opportunity to help riders continue to grow, build confidence, achieve their goals, and create lifelong friendships through the sport we all love."
