University of Mary Washington sophomore
Kye Robinson has been named the 2025-26 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Year.
Robinson, who led Mary Washington to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship, led the nation in scoring, breaking the school season records for points (804), points per game (24.3), field goals (265), field goal attempts (527), free throws (238), and free throws attempted (299). He broke the single game record with 88.2 shooting percentage (15-17) in a win over UC Santa Cruz. He ranked fourth in the nation in field goals attempted, was third in field goals, and led the nation in free throws and free throw attempts. He became 24th member of the UMW 1,000-point club on 2/19, and now ranks 15th in school history with 1,213 points.
Robinson led the men's basketball team to the first national championship in any sport at the school since 1991, as the team finished 30-3 in winning the national title at the buzzer, 75-73, over Emory University. Kye was named a consensus All-America, gaining third team honors from NABC and second team from D3hoops.com, and was a finalist for the Bevo Francis Small College Player of the Year. His accolades include consensus first team all-region, NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player, Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, first team all-conference, and was a seven-time C2C Player of the Week. He has also recently won the UMW Male Athlete of the Year award.
He becomes UMW's first C2C Athlete of the Year, as the award was initiated in 2016.
