The University of Mary Washington baseball team has been chosen third in the 2026 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll.
UMW brings in a mix of experience and youth to start the 2026 season. The Eagles, who finished 25-13 a season ago, bring back three all-C2C players in right-handed pitcher
Matthew Boyd, catcher
Oliver Martin, and two-way left-handed pitcher/outfielder
Connor Hassan. Â UMW also brings back former all-conference pitchers from previous seasons in
Gavin Riley and
Jackson Myers, as well as its everyday shortstop from a season ago in
Eric Powell.
Right-handed pitchers
Jackson Beale,
Ryan Northup, and
Ryan Henson are back to man the bullpen. The Eagles also used the portal effectively, pulling a pair of Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets to Fredericksburg in outfielder
William Tuttle and infielder
Collin Clarkson. They also added first baseman and outfielder
Keegan Mahoney, who clubbed nine home runs in two seasons at Richard Bland College.
