For the first time this season, the University of Mary Washington baseball team received votes in the D3Baseball/NWBCA Poll, per a release from D3Baseball.com on Tuesday morning. The Eagles have have also been receiving votes in the ABCA Top 30 Poll for the last two weeks as well.
Mary Washington is 19-6 this season, boasting two of the best arms in the nation in
Brendan McComber (1.21 ERA) and
Justin Ritz (1.26 ERA), and seven regular contributors hitting over .300 this season.
UMW is just one of three schools from the Commonwealth to earn national recognition this week from the D3Baseball/NWBCA Poll [No. 2 Lynchburg and Shenandoah (RV) are the two others]. The Eagles hold victories over holds victories over nationally recognized Hanover, Randolph-Macon, and Christopher Newport.
