The University of Mary Washington equestrian team opened the 2025-26 season by visiting the Christopher Newport show on Sunday.
Eliza LaViolette finished third in open over fences and fourth on intermediate equitation on the flat. In limit over fences,
Lola Bender was fourth,
Miranda Herd was fifth, and
Shelby Kaye finished sixth in her class.Â
In limit on the flat, Bender was third and Kaye was sixth. In novice flat,
Julissa Motta Santizo finished second, Margaret Alt was fifth, and Madeleine Hendell placed sixth. In pre-novice flat,
Victoria Pearson was fifth, and in introductory flat,
Fiona Chase took first in her class.
The Eagles will be back in action on November 1 at Liberty University.
