The University of Mary Washington's women's soccer team saw three of its members earn All-Region Team honors from the United Soccer Coaches in its release on Tuesday evening. Defender
Natalie Anderson and forwards
Eliza Franklin and
Maci Landel were all named to the All-Region VI Fourth Team.
Anderson, a junior defender, impressed opposing teams as a physical defender, willing to put her body on the line to stop the opposing team's offensive momentum. Too, the defender scored her first career goal in the Eagles' first victory over a Top 25 team when Anderson's header landed in the back of the net in a 1-0 victory over No. 24 McDaniel this season.
Franklin, meanwhile, led the Eagles in goals for a second consecutive season as the senior finished off six scores and added an assist for UMW this season. The Arlington, Va. native had a stretch this season where she scored in three-straight games against the likes of Salisbury, Southern Virginia, and Franklin & Marshall.
And to cap off the Eagles' All-Region members, Landel was also named to the Fourth Team after starting in all 19 games for Mary Washington this past season. In those 19 games, Landel had a team-high six assists and scored a goal against Methodist as she became the defensive focus for opposing teams after scoring four goals as a freshman in 2023. It's Landel's second appearance on the list after she was named to the All-Region Third Team last fall.
