The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team dropped a 22-5 decision at third ranked Salisbury University on Tuesday afternoon in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference semifinal in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles' season comes to a close with a record of 8-10.

After the first nine minutes remained scoreless, the host Sea Gulls erupted for five goals in the last six minutes of the first quarter. In the second, Salisbury upped its lead with six goals, and led, 11-0, at halftime.

In the third quarter, Salisbury opened the frame with three goals, before junior Garrett Keogh scored on an assist from Jackson Popeck at 8:01 left. After Salisbury scored another, senior Cameron Walker scored unassisted with 5:08 left.

The fourth quarter saw the Eagles net three goals, with Hunter Tipton scoring the first of a three-goal rally with 11:49 remaining on a Logan Green assist. Kristophe Newman added another with 5:26 left, and Jackson Davis capped the rally with 4:14 to go.

Salisbury led in shots, 53-23, and held a 41-35 edge in ground balls. UMW goalkeeper Riley Green made 12 saves between the pipes. Keegan Shipe had five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
