The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team scored 12 goals and gave up zero in the first half against Randolph-Macon College that led to a 17-6 win on Wednesday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Va. Junior Mackenzie Maguire scored four goals and tallied five assists. Paige Childers led the team with five draw controls.

UMW got the scoring started early as Maguire scored her first goal of the game just 1:20 in on a free position shot. Julia Albert scored the next UMW goal with 20:48 left to go up 2-0. Allison Davis added two goals over the next 6:18, while Paige Haskins added one to give the Eagles a 5-0 lead. 

The Eagles kept the scoring going as Maguire, Albert, and Davis all added another to give UMW an 8-0 lead with 8:07 to play. Haskins and Maguire each scored on a free position shot to extend the lead to 10-0. Madison Hurlburt and Kennedy King both got into the scoring column for UMW before the half ended and that put the Eagles up 12-0. UMW's defense shut down the Yellow Jackets as they limited them to only two shots in the first half.

In the second half, Holly Hudson and Lauren Fox both scored in a span of 3:03 to push the UMW lead to 14-0. The Yellow Jackets got their first score of the game 24:38 to play. King added another goal for the Eagles with 21:47 to play. 

Randolph-Macon added their second goal of the game on a free position shot with 15:22 to put the score at 15-2. Micaela Quinn scored on an assist from Hope Lockwood with 13:34 to play. The Yellow Jackets scored the next four goals of the game as their last one came with 3:38 to play. Tess Siburn capped the scoring for UMW as she scored with just three-seconds left after she picked up a ground ball.

UMW led in shots 32-12, as well as draw controls, 15-9. The Eagles grabbed 21 ground balls and were 13-16 on clears. Shannon Bremer recorded five saves on the day. 

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday as they visit Meredith at 1 p.m.
