Box Score

Senior Christian Trout connected on a penalty kick at 56:37 to lift the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Salisbury University on Sunday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-2, while the Sea Gulls slip to 4-3-1.

Both teams struggled to find shots in the opening first 45 minutes, as each team could muster just three shots before halftime. Eleven minutes into the second half, Trout connected on a penalty kick after a whistle in the penalty box, giving UMW the lead and opening the offensive chances. The teams combined for 17 second half shots, with UMW keeper Matt Spencer keeping the shutout.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Frostburg State University at 6:00 p.m. in another CAC contest.
