UMW Men's Lacrosse Storms Back to Top Marymount, 14-11

The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team fell behind, 8-4, by halftime, but stormed back for a 14-11 victory at Marymount University in Capital Athletic Conference play on Saturday in Arlington. The Eagles improve to 5-1 on the year.

Despite outshooting the Saints, 22-15, through two quarters, UMW found themselves behind, 8-4, at intermission. Senior Paul Tunick scored twice, and John Bohlinger and Sean Dacey each netted one.

In the second, after Marymount extended its lead to 9-4, UMW went to work, awakening with nine straight goals to take a 13-9 lead with 3:59 left in the game. In the run, Bohlinger scored three straight goals, and Tunick twice to lead the way. After the Saints scored twice to cut the deficit to two, Harry Snyder capped the scoring for a 14-11 win.

The Eagles led in shots, 48-28, and each team had 28 ground balls. The Eagles went 2-3 on extra man opportunities, won 13 of 28 faceoffs, and went 11-14 on clear attempts. Senior Matt Prin had six saves for the Eagles.

Mary Washington will return to action on Wednesday when they host Wesley College at 4:00 p.m. in another CAC contest.
