The comeback began with Shane Sixsmith (Alexandria, Va., West Potomac)'s sacrifice fly and Matt Kaler (Bethesda, Md., Walt Whitman)'s RBI single. The Eagles tacked on another run in the seventh as Eric Rehbein (Alexandria, Va., Gonzaga) was hit by a pitch and scored on a Santino Rosanova (Laurel, Md., DeMatha) RBI single.

Mary Washington scored a pair of runs in the eighth, as Sixsmith and Kaler led off with singles before Seamus Bergen (Fredericksburg, Va., Chancellor) walked. Rehbein reached on a fielder's choice scoring Sixsmith, and Will Wright (St. Louis, Mo., St. Louis Priory) added an RBI single to plate Kaler.

Seth Jordan (Springfield, Va., South County), Alex Howell (Glen Allen, Va., Hermitage), and Sixsmith each had a single and double to lead UMW, while Howell and Wright each drove in two runs. Rehbein scored twice and knocked in one.
