Christopher Newport forward Andrew Bonorden scored the game's only goal on a direct free kick at 58:06 to give the \#1 ranked Christopher Newport University men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at 25th ranked Mary Washington on Wednesday in Fredericksburg. The Eagles fall to 7-2-1 on the year, while the Captains improve to 11-0.

In an evenly matched contest, the Eagles were edged in shots, 14-12, and had seven corner kicks to six for the Captains. Sophomore goalie Alec Constantine (McLean, Va., Langley) had four saves for the Eagles, while Justin Wolfe made three stops for CNU.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Frostburg State University at 2:00 p.m. in a Capital Athletic Conference contest.
