The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the Henrico County Sports Complex, falling 3-0 to Southern Virginia University of Randolph-Macon College. The Eagles slip to 1-2 on the season.
UMW dropped its opener to SVU, 25-12, 25-18, 26-24. The Eagles were led by
Alice Holoubek and
Natalie Brown's seven kills,
Julia Gustafson's five service aces and 10 digs, and
Sofie Ferrell's 10 assists.Â
The Eagles then dropped a 25-18, 25-22, 25-18 decision to the Yellow Jackets, with Holoubek and
Jocelyn Fang each recording six kills, with Holoubek adding two aces and four blocks. Ferrell added 19 assists, and Gustafson posted 13 digs.
UMW will return to action on September 12 against Susquehanna University at Franklin and Marshall College at noon.
