The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington field hockey team saw four different players score, highlighted by a three-goal outburst in less than six minutes to open the third quarter, in downing Roanoke College, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon in Salem, Va. The Eagles improve to 5-2 on the season.
Senior
Hannah Jadgchew opened the scoring by scoring in her third straight game, at 8:33 into the game. After a scoreless second quarter sent the game to halftime with a one-goal margin.
In the third, senior
Grayson Scott scored off a Jadgchew assist just 38 seconds into play, and Scott added another less than three minutes later to up the lead to 3-0. At 35:48, Jadgchew added another score for her second of the day. Freshman

In the fourth, senior
Mackenzie Proffitt added another at 52:01 for the game's last score.
The Eagles led in shots, 30-1, including an 18-0 margin in shots on goal. UMW also led, 9-1, in penalty corners. UMW goalkeeper
Tori Winans gained the shutout win without making a save.
Mary Washington will be back at home on Wednesday, when the Eagles host Randolph-Macon College at 5:00 p.m.
