The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team has opened the start of the fall season by recording some big wins at Navy and Christopher Newport.

Day one at Navy saw all four Mary Washington teams go 2-0 with wins over squads from Colgate, Navy, and Morgan State.  Trevor Rein/Asher Willenborg, Ryan Gipner/Jack Riordan, Ryan Battaglia/Evan Fisher and Will Fromherz/Matt Scott.   
 
In singles over the first two days, Willenborg, Rein, Battaglia, and Scott have all gone 3-0 versus Colgate, Navy, and Fairleigh Dickinson. Gipner and Riordan have two wins and Fisher also picked up a win.
 
On day three on Sunday, the Eagles will have two more doubles matches each.  
 
The rest of the UMW tennis team is at Christopher Newport. On Saturday, Cooper Lehman/Eli Campbell and rookies Ayaan Choudhary/Mei Yecheng picked up doubles wins versus CNU and Lehman, Albert Vladimirskiy and Mei won their singles versus CNU. The rest of the day was rained out. They will be back in action Sunday versus Hampton and Batten.
