Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Kilby Earns Win No. 300, Brittain Scores Three Times in UMW Men's Soccer's Victory Over Washington

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team -- more specifically first-year forward Andrew Brittain -- was tough to slow down in a 3-1 victory over Washington on Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Va. For head coach Jason Kilby, Saturday marked his 300th career victory.

Brittain got the ball rolling in the 23' when Micah Davis was able to find the first-year forward open in front of the goal for the first goal of the day. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the half after leading in shots, 10-3.

In the second half, the Shoremen were able to tie the game in the 53' on an Eagle defensive miscue, but Brittain put the Eagles back in front less than a minute later once Jack Sturman found Brittain open as he beat the Washington keeper for the second time on Saturday.

And in the 57', Michael Lenhard came down with the ball on the near sideline before crossing it into the box, where Elliot Berg was able to head it to the right foot of Brittain for his third goal of the afternoon and ice the game for UMW.

Brittain took eight shots -- seven on goal -- while Caleb Perry had three and Josh Bryant took a pair as well. The Eagles led in shots 17-10, eight of their goals were on goal as well.

Zaine Asim recorded three saves in goal to move the Eagles' record in 2026 to 4-0. Mary Washington is back in action on Wednesday against No. 14 Lynchburg at Roy Gordon Field in Fredericksburg, Va. First touch is set for 4 p.m.
