The University of Mary Washington baseball team fell to Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday evening, 14-4, in Harrisonburg, Va.
George Rizzo opened the game with a lead-off homer to left center before the Monarchs put up nine runs in the bottom of the first to take a 9-1 lead.
William Tuttle drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the second to cut into the gap to 9-2.
Collin Clarkson added a two-RBI single in the fourth inning as well.
On the bump
Andrew Poon tossed three innings of shutout ball to save some innings for the bullpen arms with a pair of games coming up later this week.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday in Fredericksburg against Virginia Wesleyan at 3:30 p.m.
