The No. 5 University of Mary Washington men's basketball team has advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana after a historic season and will take on No. 6 University of Chicago on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET. The winner takes on either No. 1 Trinity (CT) or No. 12 Tufts on Saturday in the NCAA Semifinal in Fort Wayne.
The Eagles are 27-3 heading into Thursday's contest, taking down No. 16 Wisconsin-La Crosse most recently in the NCAA Sectional round in front of an energetic crowd at Ron Rosner Arena in the Anderson Center in Fredericksburg, Va., 73-68. SophomoreÂ
Kye Robinson scored a game-high 35 points and added 11 rebounds to lead UMW to the victory in his stand-out season that saw him named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 50 Watchlist. He was also named the 2025-26 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year after scoring nearly 25 points-per-game.
The Eagles are in the midst of their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance, including their third in four years, and hosted the tournament action for the second time. Mary Washington has posted a 9-3 mark against foes that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
