The University of Mary Washington baseball team took down Colby-Sawyer on Sunday to wrap up its Myrtle Beach, S.C. trip, 10-1.
The Eagles scored the first nine runs of the ballgame, improving to 13-4 in the process. UMW got the scoring started when
Connor Hassan drove in a run with a ground ball to put the Eagles up 1-0 in the first. In the second,
Sean Smith was driven in by
George Rizzo with an RBI single before Smith followed with an RBI double in the third inning to put UMW up, 3-0.
In the same inning,
William Tuttle reached on a bases-loaded walk to drive in Smith to cap the scoring, 4-0. In the fourth,
Eric Powell reached on an error, which was able to plate Hassan for the fifth run of the day. Then,
Collin Clarkson doubled home a pair of runs in the fifth, then Rizzo scored on a balk, and finally, Powell doubled a pair of runs to cap off the fifth inning to extend the lead to 9-0.
Colby-Sawyer finally got on the board in the sixth, but the Eagles countered with a run in the seventh when
Mason Malloy reached on an infield single to score
Keegan Mahoney.
Jackson Beale gave the Eagles a solid start on the bump, firing 5.1 innings of one-hit ball before departing in the sixth.

Matt Bobsin finished off the game on the bump.
The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday against No. 19 Bridgewater in Bridgewater, VA. First pitch is set for 3p.m.
