The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-7 decision at Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon in WInchester, Va. The Eagles slip to 1-3 on the season.
The Eagles dug an early hole in the first quarter, falling behind, 5-0, and couldn't fight all the way back. In the second, UMW got on the scoreboard with 13:35 remaining as junior

Ava Windham followed with another just 1:11 later. The Hornets answered with two goals, but UMW capped the second with a tally from
Sadie Laughlin on anÂ
Abigail Fisher assist at 4:26 left.
The Hornets extended their lead to 9-3 with a pair of scores in the third quarter. In the fourth, UMW began a comeback with a score from Laughlin with 10:35 left, and another from freshman
Seanna Ruimermann just 45 seconds later.
Maura Schroeder trimmed the margin to 9-6 with 6:33 left on a Laughlin assist, but Shenandoah scored two to put the game away. Laughlin scored in the final minute on a Dube assist for the capper.
Mary Washington led in shots, 26-22, while Shenandoah won 10 of 16 draws.
Cece Van Blenis made two saves in 30 minutes, and
Adrianna Hernandez made four saves in 30 minutes of relief.
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday at Stevens Tech at 7:00 p.m.
