As usual, UMW got off to a quick start, scoring the game's first nine points over the first three minutes of play that began with Emma Terry's layup, followed by a Jenna Steadman jumper to put the Eagles up by four. Terry made another quick layup, before Maddy Jenisch drilled the first of her 3-pointer's. The Eagles forced six turnovers and five missed shots before the Blazers scored their first points of the game. UMW finished the first quarter with an 18-9 advantage, going 8-for-15 from the floor.
