The University of Mary Washington field hockey team saw its three-game win streak come to an end with a 4-1 loss at Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon in Owings Mills, Md. The Eagles slip to 5-3, while the Mustangs improve to 8-1.
Stevenson opened the scoring with a tally at 5:22, but the Eagles knotted the score at 8:44 on a tally from first year
Kenzi Reece. The Mustangs added another at 12:10, and carried a 2-1 edge after 15 minutes.Â
The hosts added an insurance goal one minute before halftime, and added another seconds into the fourth quarter.
Stevenson led in shots, 15-6, and penalty corners, 7-4. Eagle goalkeeper Tori WInans made seven saves on the day,
The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday when they host Rhodes College at 12:00 p.m. in Collegiate Field Hockey Conference action.
