Anna Reed extended her goal-scoring streak to two straight games by scoring the game's only goal with just 1:17 remaining in regulation, as the University of Mary Washingotn field hockey team defeated Randolph-Macon College, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon in Ashland, Va. The Eagles improve to 5-3 on the season.
In a contest that saw the Eagles hold a substantial lead in shots (34-4) as well as penalty corners (11-5), the Yellow Jackets were able to keep UMW off the scoreboard until the waning moments, as Reed scored unassisted to send the Eagles back up Interstate 95 with a hard-fought win.

Tori Winans, who had earlier in the day been named the CFHC Defensive Player of the Week, recorded one save in gaining her third straight shutout.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, as they visit Stevenson University at 1:00 p.m.
